Why you need a link building strategy

The way the search engine’s see it, a link equals a vote of confidence. If I link to your content from my website, I’m saying, “hey, this guy (or gal) has something worth looking at.” So the more links you get, the better.

But not all links are created equal.

Links (sometimes called “backlinks”) from websites that provide quality content, and that are relevant to your business, can give your site a big boost; meanwhile links from low quality websites–like those known as link farms–can actually hurt your search rankings.
How to get good backlinks
Your online marketing strategy must include a link building element. By this I mean it is your job to find ways to get other websites to link to you. Here are a few suggestions on how to go about it:

List your site in relevant directories. The Internet is full of directories that help people find what they are looking for. Submit your site to directories that are relevant to your location or industry and you can get a free backlink.

Get mentioned on blogs. Search engines love blogs. Having your company written up on a local- or industry-specific blog will provide you with more than directory-style link, but a link that is surrounded by relevant keywords (very SEO friendly). I am very excited about this new journey God is leading me on and would love to share a little bit with you so you have some background information. I graduated high school in 2008 and July of 2008 I moved to Nashville to go to cosmetology school. I started attending Paul Mitchell school in August. I graduated in July of 2009. I worked for a local salon in Maryville for 2.5 years. I then had the opportunity to open my own salon so I quit there and temporarily worked at the Pure Nail Bar until the remodeling on my salon was finished. The salon actually opened for business today, it is called Studio C! We are hoping to set our salon apart by having bible studies for employees hosted by my youth pastor Cesar Correa.
